Take Back the Night
This year's Take Back the Night march in Penticton is not only focussing on violence against women, but victims of violence in general. Organizer Reasha Wolfe says it's important to create a community of equality and justice for both men and women, and all races. She says they aren't just focussing on physical abuse, but also verbal, spiritual, financial and many other forms. Wolfe says there should be more ways that people can support one another. The march will start at the Oonakane Friendship Centre on Main Street at 7-30 tomorrow night with a minute of silence and candlelight vigil. For more information go to http://www.p-a-w-c.ca/.
