Summerland water to be shut off this weekend

A major portion of Summerland will be without water for about 14 hours starting Saturday night.  Repairs to a main water transmission line are scheduled to begin at 9 o'clock tomorrow (Sat) night, and last until 11 Sunday morning.  Customers in the following areas will experience little or no water pressure....

Prairie Valley Road, south of Morrow Avenue to Highway 97 and Solly Road.... Peach Orchard Road, Crescent Beach... Giants Head Road to Hillborn Street and the Front Bench Road area east to Highway 97 and south including Happy Valley and Gartrell Roads.

Irrigators are prohibited from watering during that time period, and residents are advised to keep an adequate supply of water on hand.

The District of Summerland says once the water is restored residents may see some sediment, and should run their cold taps until the water clears.
