Jun.30th - Canada Day...Eh

...Happy Canada Day Eve! Here is hoping that you get a chance to head out tomorrow and take in all of the incredible local events going on.
- In Penticton, it kicks off with a pancake breakfast in the morning...and will continue all day with great music, food and more in Gyro Park. Don't forget the fireworks display to end things off around 10ish!
- In Summerland, it's an afternoon event down at Peach Orchard Beach. It starts at noon with great entertainers, and includes Canada Day cake, and the dedication of the Spirit Square sculpture at 2pm. Bring along your beach towels and lawn chairs!
- In Osoyoos, the Cherry Fiesta features a parade in the morning, more activities throughout the day...and a huge firewalks display to end things off.
...I hope you get a chance to take it all in!
...So...the ideal Canada Day would include one or all of the above events...but, I will start off the day with pancakes for sure...with delicious Summerland Sweets syrup smothered on top of mine...have some Tim Horton's coffee to wash it all down. I think I will have to check out hockey in some way...whether it's on the NHL Network, or one of the Classic channels, or see if there are any big signings for free agent day. It's Canada...so...hockey never rests...even in July! For lunch...it has to be poutine! Later on...a beautiful beach somewhere has to be in the plans...whether on Okanagan Lake or Skaha, or Osoyoos! There has to be some Molson Canadian involved at some point during the day...maybe a Smarties ice cream cone, the Hip blaring in the background, read a classic Superman comic, enjoy a nice barbecue somewhere for dinner, and then end the day watching some Beachcomber re-runs! How is that for a Canada Day?!
...I will be back on Thursday for the Breakfast Club along with Karolina. We will have more tickets to give away for the Lipizzaner Stallions coming to Penticton, movie trivia with the Pen-Mar, the Island Green Contest where you could win with St. Andrew's By the Lake, and your Rec Roundup with Brenda Ingram from Summerland It all begins at 6am...talk to you then...and enjoy Canada Day!
